Charles A. Harker

Charles A. Harker age 76, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, passed away on April 8, 2015 in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Charles is a graduate of Las Vegas High School. He married Patricia (Thompson) on August 31, 1956 in Las Vegas. Charles drove trucks, did road construction, worked for the Teamsters Union, and farmed. They also owned and operated a café in Modale. Charles enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing cards, camping, and loved Estes Park. Charles is preceeded in death by his parents; Melvin and Mildred (Cleaver) Harker, Brother Melvin Harker, and Sister Lila Rae Tharp. Charles is survived by his wife Patricia Harker of Missouri Valley, Iowa, children; Kris Colbert and husband Coles of Denver, Colorado, Tami Harker of Pisgah, Iowa, Sheri Harker of Modale, Iowa, nephew Bob Tharp (like a son) of Menifee, California, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday at 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at The Modale United Methodist Church in Modale, Iowa Ole Slew Foot A Life Well Lived and Loved Well. And what a wonderful life it was! I know because he told us all the time. He loved to tell stories of his life growing up, the roller rink in Fremont, and the ranch in Nevada. He loved riding down the road on the motorcycle with Mom and friends. Sharing adventures on many a back road and maybe catching a cattle drive. Dad was the first one to the card table and the last one to leave. Showed us what a good bluff, laughter, and fun was all about. In Loving Memory Of Charles A.
