Darrell H. Stephens, age 90, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Darrell was born July 27, 1922 in Harrison County, Iowa to Herb and Ruth (Knauss) Stephens. Darrell married Viola McHugh on February 6, 1949. Darrell and Viola had been married for sixty four years. They were blessed with two children, Carolyn Jean Snyder and Carroll David Stephens. Everyone thought of Darrell as living in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is never lost, and he was loved so much. Darrell was a dedicated farmer, he raised cattle and hogs. He spent many hours caring for them. He was a hard worker and worked from light until dark. Darrell belonged to the Christian Church in Woodbine and Missouri Valley and to a neighbor church. People loved him for his kind and loving ways. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Arlis Stephens, sister; Mary. Survivors include his wife: Viola Stephens of Missouri Valley, Iowa, children: Carolyn Snyder and husband David of West Minster, Colorado, Carroll Stephens and wife Debra of Honey Creek, Iowa, two grandchildren; Rebecca and Andrew.
