Duane E. Behm

Duane Edward Behm age 82 of Omaha, Nebraska formally of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Friday February 15, 2013 at the Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska. Duane was born September 14, 1930 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Henry L. and Hazel (McManamie) Behm. He attended the Missouri Valley High School and during his high School years his was a star basketball player. Duane Married Katharine Ann (Holst) Behm November 26, 1955 in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1957 with a degree in Accounting. Duane served his country four years in the Navy. Duane worked for Continental Baking and served as Financial Officer for Picker INT, working in California, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio before retiring in Omaha, Nebraska in 1987 at the age of 57. Duane was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Hazel, sisters: Regina Peterson, Lucille DeGood, and Marguerite Stockstad, brother: Donald Behm Survivors include his wife Katharine Behm of Omaha, Nebraska, children: Karen Happ and husband Joe of Greeley, Nebraska, Daniel Behm of Omaha, Nebraska, Julie Lawlor and husband Mark of Omaha, Nebraska, Kevin Behm of Omaha, Nebraska, Christopher Behm and wife Lisa of Hudson, Ohio, fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brothers; Robert Behm of Mexico, Gerald of Minnesota, and Lawrence of California, sister: Virginia Behm of Denver Colorado, Many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m. at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Missouri Valley immediately following the service. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska.
