Hildegard (Hilde) Erika Williams age, 80 of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at her home of natural causes. She was born November 11, 1934 in Bradenburg am Havel, Germany. Having grown up during World War II, she endured her parents, grandparents, and one of her sisters dying as a result of the war. She grew up in an orphanage, and at the age of eighteen, left there and moved to Stuttgart, Germany, where she met her husband, Glenn Williams, who was in the military at the time. They got married in 1961 in Vaihingen, Germany. In 1969, while living in Honolulu, Hawaii, she and Glenn became the proud parents of Michael Williams, their only child. She lived in the Frankfurt, Germany area from 1974 to around 1993, and was a resident of Des Moines, Iowa from 1993 on. She worked as a server at the Kirkwood Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa and was always a delight to her customers with her genuine attitude and great service. She was a loving mother and a devoted lover of animals. She is survived by her son: Michael Williams of Kutztown, Pa and her ex-husband Glenn Williams of Missouri Valley, Iowa.
