Irene A. Carrier

 

Irene A. Carrier, age 91, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Irene was born on July 22, 1926 to Nels and Nettie (Sims) Anderson in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She attended school in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Irene married William Carrier on July 10, 1964. William passed away on November 26, 1982. Irene lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa for 30 years. She worked at Purex Dial Soap Company for 29 years. Irene began working for the daily nonpareil in 1989, and worked there for 15 years. Irene enjoyed garage sales, visiting friends, playing skipo, and bingo.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, daughter: Barbara Adams, brother: Albert Anderson of Missouri Valley, Iowa, grandson: Thomas EW Roof, stepdaughter: Sharon Janet, “son”; Richard Carrier.

Survivors include; daughter: Susan Roof of Council Bluffs, Iowa, son: David Carrier of Missouri Valley, Iowa, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

The family would like to invite everyone to a time of refreshments and fellowship to the Christian church after the Memorial Service.
