James Souhan Morrow passed away peacefully at Longview Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the age of 89. James was born November 20, 1927 in Mondamin, Iowa to Frank and Mary (Souhan) Morrow. As a young man James served in the Army, particularly enjoying his time working at the Pentagon. On his return, he married Mary Lou (Mead) Morrow and remained happily married for 63 years. They had 5 children. He spent his life working for the Iowa State Tax Commission and the US Postal Service but his true vocation was farming. He farmed his home ground until he was 77 years old.
Preceded in death by: his parents, a sister Margaret Blomgren and a brother Francis Morrow.
He is survived by: His wife Mary Lou Morrow of Mondamin, IA; Children: James (Kathy) Morrow, Jr of Omaha, NE; Janet (Marty) O’Connell of Cedar Falls, IA; Alan (Janet) Morrow of Folsom, CA; Susan (Scott) Bonham of Logan, IA; John (Carla) Morrow of Shenandoah, IA; Grandchildren: Amy Morrow, Kevin (Caitlin) Morrow, Alex Morrow, Michael O’Connell, Daniel O’Connell, David O’Connell, Katrina (Michael Hebert) Morrow, Katherine Morrow, Jeffery Morrow, James Michael Morrow, Kimberly Morrow, Sara (Andrew) Lafferty, Steven Bonham; Great-Grandchildren: Brenna O’Connell, Ronin O’Connell, Anistyn O’Connell, Lillian Lafferty, Brother-in-law Carl Blomgren
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
