Janice Ruth Hendrix, age 94, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Janice was born July 7, 1921 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Raleigh and Pearl (Hume) Ferguson. She graduated from the Missouri Valley High School with the class of 1939. Janice was married to Edsel Hendrix in 1940. Janice enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Edsel passed away in 1987. Janice is preceded in death by her parents; husband Edsel, sister Frances Argo, brothers, Robert and Lester Ferguson, great-grandson, Colton Bertelson. Survivors include: daughters: Judith Bertelson (Tom) of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Kay Reed (Jack) of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Eddie Stuart (Jim) of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Gayle Hendrix (Dick) of Ankeny, Iowa; Shirley Cameron (Michael) of Omaha, Nebraska; Pat Lease (Ron) of Missouri Valley, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Christian Church Center following the committal service at the cemetery.
