Evangelist John E. Lizer age 86, of Pisgah, Iowa passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley. John was born October 2, 1926 to Elmer and Olive (Powell) Lizer in Orson, Iowa. John graduated from the Mondamin High School in 1944. John was a longtime farmer and Mail Carrier and he retired in 1995. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many Priestly duties before he was Ordained as an Evangelist in 1987. John married Annabelle Simmons September 15, 1946 in Pisgah, Iowa. John enjoyed people, having coffee with friends, most of all his family. John is preceded in death by his parents; Olive Powell Lizer, Elmer Clifford Lizer; his sister: Carole Anne Lizer Green, granddaughter; Heather Olinger Hart. John is survived by his wife: Annabelle Lizer of Missouri Valley, Iowa, daughter; Patricia Ann Lizer-Olinger and significant other Jerome Neill of Omaha, Nebraska, son: Thomas John Lizer and wife Debbie of Reinbeck, Iowa; grandchildren: Zachary Olinger of Modale and Elizabeth Olinger of Mondamin, Iowa; Joshua Lizer and wife Rosemary of Michigan, John Jess Lizer and wife Shannon, Benjamin Aaron Lizer, Reka Joanne Lizer, Rogette Gabriella Lizer, Jurane Isabella Lizer, Vashaili Joy Lizer all of Reinbeck, Iowa; great grandchildren: Dakota Hart of Omaha, Nebraska, Ashton George Olinger of Modale, Iowa, Lani Mitchell Olinger of Modale, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with Elder Donny Bothwell officiating at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
