The Gochenours called us this morning to tell us that Norma had passed away. In recent years when we visited them in Mo. Vally we sometimes visited a bit with Norma. We live in Everest, KS. I know that you, her family, had suffered along with her in her recent years. Michelle was my best friend in high school, you may not remember me at all but I knew your family well back in the day. Three of us felt especially connected in our class. Denise Nelson had a blended family. My steps were Nelson but my name was Moore. Your family of course was Moore but Michelle was Langenberger. We sometimes felt that we should have one big family reunion. I am so sorry for your loss and your struggles. For all of your losses really. Our prayers are with you. Shannon Moore Scott.
I want to express my heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Norma. I have such great memories of her as the foreman of our “bean-hoeing crew” every summer. She would pick my brother and I up at 5:30am and would allow the car to remain silent on the way out to the fields so our whole crew could sleep a bit longer. We all worked so very hard, but it was impossible to out-work Norma! We had a lot of fun too, and she would often burst into song when the hot sun was blazing and we were all getting tired. On the way home from the fields, she would always have the car radio tuned in to Paul Harvey. Her fun and kind spirit will be missed by so many, but I know her legacy carries on through the lives of her wonderful children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
