Alice Corena Zaiser
Alice Corena Zaiser, age 80 of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Sunday April 21, 2013 at Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Alice was born November 4, 1932 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Walter E. and Naomi E (Kieef) Byers. She grew up on a farm near Weston, Iowa, and was baptized a Catholic. Alice graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School In 1950 with a class of 235. She graduated from Mercy Nursing School in 1953. Alice was married to Lloyd Zaiser on December 12, 1954 in Weston, Iowa. Alice worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital, Community Memorial Hospital and also for Dr. Tamisiea and Dr. Wilson. Alice was a member of KYN Club (Know Your Neighbor), and a five year member of the W. Pottawattamie County 4-H Club. Alice loved singing and taking part in plays while in school. Alice was very active in St. Patricks Catholic Church until her illness in 1981. Alice is survived by her sons: Gerald Zaiser and wife Sandi of Logan, Iowa; David Zaiser and wife Michelle of Logan, Iowa; Daniel Zaiser and wife Kathy of Missouri Valley, Iowa; grandchildren: Jessica, Jordan, and Austin. sister: Mary Roache and husband Larry of Leigh Center, Minnesota; brothers; Joseph Byers and wife Phyllis of Fordland, Missouri; Matthew Byers and wife Helen of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, daughter Mary Kay, son Thomas, sister: Barbara and brother Walter Byers. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hennessey Funeral Home.
