Anita Louise Jensen

Anita Louise (Loges) Jensen, age 81, of Magnolia, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska.

Anita was born on February 6, 1942 in Fremont, Nebraska to the late John and Elizabeth (Sheets) Loges. Anita married the late Eugene C. Jensen on September 13, 1969. They had 14 children that she called “His, Mine and Ours”. Anita worked at Campbells Soup in Fremont NE, the Chuckwagon Truck Stop in Fremont and Mondamin Fruit Farm. 

   Anita enjoyed going to garage sales, crocheting, camping, playing internet games, scrolling through Facebook, and spending time with family & friends. She spoke to Gene and Cathy Barber at 10:00 every night (and I mean every night). She also loved attending Old Settlers in Magnolia. She would spend lots of time making items to sell at it and enjoyed listening to Mike and Rick sing.

   Her favorite story was when she married Eugene. He told the judge that if she was not any good in 7 days, he would return her to him. Unfortunately, the judge died before the 7 days were up, so he had to keep her.

   Anita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene C. Jensen; daughter, Tammy Kephart; sons John and Justin Kephart; sister Janelle & Howard Weed; brother Don & Carolyn Loges; and sister-in-law Marilyn Loges. 

   Survivors include her children Bob (Rita) Jensen of Hooper NE, Vicki (Steve) Sieve of Boone IA, Duane (Diana) Jensen of Fremont NE, Jim (Debi) Kephart of Mondamin IA, Angie (Gary) Kephart of Omaha NE, Jerry (Robin) Kephart of Magnolia IA, Jack (Tammy) Tacner of Glendale AZ, Rodney (Carrie) Tacner of Glendale AZ, Jay (Abigail) Jensen of Missouri Valley IA, Stella (Kevin) Wilson of Missouri Valley IA, and Steve (RaeShelle) Jensen of Neola IA; 35 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, brother Hank Loges of Eldon MO, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

   Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley IA.

   Luncheon will follow in the Magnolia City Park.

Burial of Cremated remains at the Magnolia Cemetery at a later date. 

Family will direct memorials.
