Brian L. Birdsall

 

Brian L. Birdsall, age 59, of Mondamin, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Brian was born on July 23, 1958 to Charles and Rosina (Knadle) Birdsall in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Brian graduated from West Harrison High School in the spring of 1976. On April 19, 1980, Brian married Carol Dickinson in Mondamin, Iowa. Brian worked as a fitter welder at Vulcan Industries for 17 years and was an avid outdoorsman.

Brian is preceded in death by his father Charles Burt Birdsall, brother Denny Birdsall, and stepfather Richard “Moby” Dick.

Brian is survived by his wife of 37 years Carol Birdsall of Mondamin, Iowa; his children, Jeremiah Birdsall and wife Jennifer of Bellevue, Nebraska, Christopher Birdsall and wife Rachel of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Allison and Alexis; his mother, Rosina Dick of Woodbine, Iowa; his sister, Denise Lindgren of Mondamin, Iowa, his brother, Bryce Birdsall and wife Deb of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa, Pastor Harley Johnson will be Officiating. Musical Selection are “Simple Man”, “The Living Years”, “You Raise Me Up”. Final Resting Place Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia, Iowa.

Immediately following the memorial service, the family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the West Harrison Community Schools Commons in Mondamin, Iowa.

    Brian was such a great man. I loved how it seemed like he always knew how to fix everything. I’ll never forget when he helped teach me how to shoot a gun by hanging a clay disc on a tree. As I went to shoot, he stopped me to go move it farther away from his truck, which was probably a great idea since I’m not a great shot. I’ll always love him, and he’ll be greatly missed!

    I am so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. I remember when we were kids and he and my brother Bryon hung out and of course I was there being a bother. We had a great childhood in Mondamin, after my brother Bryon passed, I know that Brian watched out for me. Now he and my brother can sit up in heaven and talk about old times. I feel your sorrow but know that God has a plan for him, he was a great man.
