Chuck Hollinger, age 73 of Woodward, Iowa passed away Friday June 2, 2023, in Des Moines, Iowa.  Chuck D. Hollinger was born March 8, 1950, to Fred and Dorothy (Marr) Hollinger in Council Bluffs, IA.  Chuck was a longtime resident of the Woodward Resource Center where he made many cherished friends.  He enjoyed professional wrestling; his favorite meal was chicken and potato salad; his favorite superhero was The Hulk; he loved cake and Mountain Dew and was a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

Chuck is survived by his sister, Barb Smith, brothers, John Hollinger, Doug Hollinger and Bob Hollinger as well as many other relatives and his friends at Woodward Resource Center.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred, Jim, Terry and Billy and a sister, Dorothy. 

Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 AM on Tuesday June 6, 2023, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa with the Funeral Service following at 11:00.  He will be laid to rest next to his parents at the Dow City Cemetery.

    R.I.P. Uncle Charles, I will miss you getting so excited over cake, every time someone has cake, I always will think of you and hear your voice every time say CAKE. Love you & Will miss you.

    I remember, ages ago, the long drive to Council Bluffs from Los Angeles to visit my Uncle Fred, Aunt Dorothy and all the kids. I remembered Charles was always smiling. I’m sorry for this difficult time and we pray that God brings loads of good memories to you all.

      I knew Chuck many years, and he never failed to entertain a crowd! I was fortunate to accompany him to visit family several times and was always made to feel like family while there! You will be missed and I pray for your wonderful family! Amen
