David “Mick” McDunn

David Michaell McDunn (Mick) passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020. Mick was born November 24, 1942 in Los Angeles, California to Charles T. and Opal L. (Brink) McDunn. He graduated from Dunlap High School (Dunlap, Iowa) in 1960. In June of that year, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his service of four years, he went to work for Suburban Gas Company delivering gas. After leaving there, he worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company where he retired as an installation and repair supervisor. After retirement he worked for Lozier Corporation on the paint line and Woodhouse Ford transporting cars. On January 28, 1967, Mick married Bonnie Stewart and they had two children; David and Stewart, and later divorced. In 1997 he married Susan Tiffey, who had two Children; Jakeb and Nikole Turner. Mick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid reader. He was very active with the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3876 where he served as President along with many other roles. Mick loved going to car shows, playing cards, and snowmobiling.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Opal McDunn, Step Dad Tony Buter, Father-in-law Maurice Stewart, and Sister Char Les A Bugenhagen.

He is survived by LaVonne Stewart, Bonnie McDunn, Susan McDunn; Sons David McDunn (Jennifer Ahmann) of Omaha, Stewart (Traci) McDunn of Missouri Valley; Stepchildren Jakeb (Katie) Turner of New Hampshire and Nikole Cook (Bryce Jensen) of Woodbine; Grandchildren Corey, Zach, Justin, Emily, Abby, and Chloe; Great Grandchildren Maverick and Sonny. Brothers and Sisters: Robert (Nancy) McDunn of Omaha, Cheryl (Frank) Salter of Missouri Valley, Patrick (Donna) McDunn of Missouri Valley, Mary Chambers (Mark Smith) of Missouri Valley, and Randy McDunn of Modale; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Eagles Club following the committal service at the cemetery.
