Deborah Gaye Thomas

Deborah Gaye Thomas, age 60, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on June 26th, 2022, at Nebraska Medical Center. Deborah was born September 29th, 1961, in Union City, Tennessee, to Billy Wayne Crabtree and Barbara Gaye Ring. Deb graduated with her GED from Omaha Public Schools. She married Robert Lee Thomas Sr on February 16th, 1985, in Las Vegas Nevada. Deb was employed as a CNA at the Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home most of her career. She enjoyed fishing on the river, working on her garden and spending time with her dog Sassy. Deb was a Nebraska fan but never stopped cheering on her home team, Alabama.

Survived by her husband and best friend Robert Lee Thomas Sr of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Daughter Caroline Melissa Neil and her husband Joseph Neil Jr of Missouri Valley, Iowa. Sons Michael Todd Thomas, and Robert Lee Thomas Jr of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Sister Mitzi Parsons of Missouri Valley, Iowa. Brothers Gary Parson and wife Deseray Hatfield of Omaha Nebraska. Ricky Crabtree and wife Mary Jo Crabtree of St. Louis, Missouri. Eleven grandchildren, one great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents Billy Wayne Crabtree and Barbara Gaye Ring. Grandson Michael Toad Thomas, and Stepdaughter Shannon Mae Mckinney.

Graveside Service will be Thursday, June 30th at Rose Hill Cemetery at 3:30pm.

   Family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of life on Saturday, July 2nd at 1 pm at the Carter Lake Improvement Center, Carter Lake, Iowa.

    Deb was such a beautiful soul. I loved her and our long talks. She was always there when I had a bad day and needed to vent. She loved her dog sassy so much. I pray for her family in this hard time. Love you all.
