
A visitation will be held 4:00p.m-7:00p.m Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Hennessey Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Missouri Valley, Iowa Wednesday, January 15, 2025, under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home and Hennessey Funeral Home.
A viewing was held at Harkey Funeral Home on Friday, January 10, 2025. His life and legacy was celebrated Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church in Monahans, Texas, Father Joe Raj officiated.
Dennis Lynn Greer, age 82, of Monahans, Texas passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 9, 2025, at 3:15 am.
Dennis was born April 23, 1942, in Dunlap, Iowa. He was the fourth child of Leslie “Mannie” Isaac and Doris A. (Tarkington) Greer. Dennis graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1960. He met Judy Leah Swaney on a blind date in Omaha and they were married on November 23, 1963. He and his family relocated from Missouri Valley, Iowa to Monahans, Texas in July of 1969. They shared 61 wonderful years together.
He relocated to Monahans, Texas in 1969 as a self-employed welder. He told his wife that they would only be in Texas for one (1) year. They made Monahans their home for 56 years.
Friends and family will always remember his love for his family, his silly grin, sharp wit, and delightful sense of humor.
Dennis is preceded in death by parents, Leslie and Doris Greer.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Leah Greer; his children; daughter, Roxane Greer, of Monahans; daughter, Kimberley Thomas and husband, Jay, of Monahans; and son, Darren Greer and wife, Lindee, of Ft. Worth; granddaughter, Chelsee Greer Bundy and husband, Bryce, of Ft. Worth; granddaughter, Katie Greer of Dallas; granddaughter, Brittany Thomas Bejaran and husband, Benny, of Midland; granddaughter, Jayde Thomas Shaw and husband, Bradley, of Midland; and granddaughter, Hannah Thomas Heflin and husband, Blane, of Midland and great-grandson, Nolan Bejaran; sister, Barbara Guinan of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and sister, Shirley Ann Skinner of Omaha, numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed, and his memory will always be carried in our hearts forever.
