Doyle Albert Knadle, age 91, of Mondamin, Iowa passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Doyle was born July 20, 1922 to Albert Frank Knadle and Sybil Irene (Ruffcorn) Knadle. He was baptized in the Christian Church in Logan, Iowa. He graduated from Mondamin High School in 1939. Doyle married Deloma Agnes Andersen February 2, 1954, to this union one daughter was born Myrna Ann Knadle Lightwine, Deloma passed away July 3, 1971, Doyle remarried Donna Scott March 15, 1975. Doyle farmed for sixty-two years and retired at the age of 80. Doyle was the Mayor of Mondamin, Iowa for six years, and served on several boards. He served many years on the board of Health for Logan, Iowa, fifteen years on Farmers COOP Elevator, twenty-five years for Soil Conservation. Several years on the Board of Review, and several years on the Compensation Board. For pass time he liked to bowl, play golf and travel, he had his picture taken on the capitol steps of all 50 states. Bowled in the Hall of Fame at the Tamarack Bowl in Missouri Valley. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife: Donna Knadle of Mondamin, Iowa; daughter: Myrna Lightwine and husband Craig of Pisgah, Iowa; grandchildren: Linnea Handbury and husband Matt of Neola, Iowa; Heath Lightwine of Omaha, Nebraska; great grandchildren: Chaeli Moir of Neola, Iowa, Presley Lightwine, Carter Lightwine, and Max Lightwine all of Omaha, Nebraska, Maryn Handbury, Tevin Handbury both of Neola, Iowa, sister: Rosina Dick of Mondamin, Iowa. Preceded in death by: his parents, Albert and Sybil Knadle; one sister: Marjorie Lovrien, great granddaughter: Harley Ann Lightwine and nephew Denny Birdsall Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Vocal selection will be “Daddy’s Hand’s” by Jennifer Neill.
