Eileen (Finken) McClannahan

Eileen (Finken) McClannahan age, 81 of Mondamin, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Eileen was born July 13, 1930, to Ben and Mabel (O’Neill) Finken in Harrison County, Iowa. She grew up on a farm east of Beebeetown and graduated from Beebeetown High School in 1947. She attended Iowa State University for one year and then moved to Council Bluffs to work at the Council Bluffs Savings Bank. Eileen married Jim McClannahan on January 14, 1953, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were married for fifty-one years until Jim’s death in 2004. Eileen and Jim lived and farmed between Modale and Mondamin their whole lives. They retired in 1995. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she spoiled. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flowers, bowling, gambling, cooking/baking, entertaining, and watching game shows. Eileen is preceded in death by her husband Jim, parents, and brothers Ellis and Verne Finken. Eileen is survived by her children: Teri McClannahan of Persia, Iowa; Robin McClannahan and his wife Julie of Mondamin, Iowa, and their children Cari McClannahan, John McClannahan, Emily Rokon and husband Kam; Sheri Crabb and her husband Matt of Sac City, Iowa, and their daughter Jenna Crabb; Lori McClannahan of West Des Moines, Iowa; Royal McClannahan of Modale, Iowa; sister Helen Moffatt of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brother Lynn Finken and his wife Shirley of Logan, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at Mondamin Community Center after the committal service.
