Francis Coddington
Francis LaVerne Coddington, age 76, of Missouri Valley, Iowa,
passed away Friday, October 13th, 2023 at his home. Francis was born in Missouri Valley to Gilford
and Irene Coddington in 1946. Francis
was married to Mary Griffith, on June 14th, 1969. He served his country in the Air Force during
Vietnam as an aircraft technician. After
the war, he worked for Western Union and then OPPD at the Fort Calhoun power
plant for many years before retiring.
Francis loved fishing, golf, cribbage, listening to music on his
porch, reading Dean Koontz, gardening, and enjoying his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; his sister, Betty Ruffcorn; his
three children: Bruce (Jill) Coddington, Francine Ebert (Tim McVeigh), and
Amber (Joshua) Navarro; his grandchildren Gillian, James, Haisten, Liam,
Corwin, Harper, Jacoby, Cael, and many nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his mother and father, his
brothers Fred, Larry, and sisters Mary, and Shirley Mae.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, October 25th
from 9:00a.m to 11:00am, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00a.m.
Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 6256 and O’Hara Seeley Post, presented graveside at Calhoun cemetery.
The family would like to invite everyone to lunch at the Eagle’s
Club following the interment.
