Gary G. Michael age 75, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Gary was born March 20, 1943 in Logan, Iowa to Glenn and Violet (Graves) Michael. He always enjoyed singing and music. He raised hogs for competition in his early years. He went to AFI School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and earned his degree in airplane mechanics. Gary later went back to school and earned a degree in heating and air conditioning. Thereafter, he owned Valley Refrigeration Service for 25 years. He enjoyed family, travelling, snow skiing, building his own model train, and car races. Most remember him for his sense of humor and friendly nature.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents; brother in law, James Murray; brother in law, Ronald Murray, husband of Diane; brother in law, Ronald Beebe, husband of Roma; mother and father in law, Earl and Freda Murray; and great nephews, Benjamin and Max Carlin.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathy of Missouri Valley, Iowa; daughter, Deanna Hainline and husband Mark of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter, Andrea Michael of Missouri Valley, Iowa; sister, Elaine Murray of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Alexander and Peyton Hainline of Omaha, Nebraska and Halle Paladino of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Christian Church Fellowship Center following the service at the church.
