Georgia L. Garnette age 66, of Modale, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at her home in Modale, Iowa. Georgia was born January 7, 1947 to Chancey and Evelyn (Chamberlain) Adams in Moorhead, Iowa. Georgia graduated from West Harrison School. Georgia married Paul August 1, 1974 and they traveled and lived in many states due to their business. In 1968 she worked at Lutheran Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska as a Occupational Therapy Aid. Paul passed away February 16, 2009. Georgia enjoyed knitting and bingo. Georgia was also a member of the Modale City Council. Georgia is survived by her children: Leigh Holtorf and husband Bernie of Central City, Nebraska, Terri Zeleski and husband Tim of Grand Island, Nebraska, Lorri Rogers and husband Jim of Grand Island, Nebraska, James Garnette and wife Kim of Willmington, North Carolina, numerous grandchildren great grandchildren, nieces and nephews sisters: Jennie Gallentine of Modale, Iowa, Louise Tietgen of Uehling, Nebraska, Edna Wede of Harlan, Iowa; Rena Ford and husband James of Council Bluffs, Iowa, brothers: Charles Adams and wife Rachel of Gibbon, Nebraska Allen Adams of Modale, Iowa Blair Adams and wife Bonnie of Missouri Valley, Iowa. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step daughter Sandi Garnette, brother; Frank Adams sister; Blendina Cooper brother in law; Floyd Cooper. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship to the Modale Legion Hall after the service.
