JANE W. SCHWERTLEY, age 95, of Omaha, Nebraska formerly of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Brookstone Meadows in Omaha, Nebraska. Jane was born September 19, 1914 in Wood River, Nebraska to Kirk and Dossie (Duncan) Weldon. She graduated from Grand Island High School, then attended college in Grinnell for two years and received a Degree in Science from the University of Nebraska. Jane married Robert B. Schwertley on December 28, 1938 in Grand Island, Nebraska. They resided in Missouri Valley where they owned and operated the Schwertley Chevrolet Dealership. Robert passed away September 18, 1977. Jane enjoyed reading, gardening, playing Bridge, golfing and most of all Traveling. She was active in many volunteer projects in Missouri Valley. Survivors include her son: Robert Schwertley and wife Debra of Omaha, Nebraska; grandson Brett Robert Schwertley of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Jane Elizabeth Schwertley of Seattle, Washington, granddaughter Karen Garvin, grandsons, Richard Long, Chris Doner and Brian Doner all of Seattle, Washington; eight great-grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert,, son Richard and granddaughter Jackie Doner. Visitation with the family will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Heafey-Hoffmann-Dvorak-Cutler West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Road in Omaha, Nebraska and one hour prior to services Monday at the Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
