Janice Stueve

     Janice M. Stueve age 74, of Modale, Iowa passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at CHI Health Missouri Valley. Janice was born September 8, 1948 in Logan, Iowa to Ted and Bernadine Straight. She attended a country school at the end of her driveway, and then attended school in Magnolia, Iowa. She started high school in Logan, Iowa. This is where she met her high school sweetheart, Denis Stueve. They were united in marriage October 5, 1963 at the Lutheran Church in Logan, Iowa. To this union there were four children: Annette, Lonnie, Tony and Brian.

     Janice was a CNA for over forty years. She was still employed with CHI Health Missouri Valley at the time of her passing. She loved taking care of people. She use to love riding horses, camping and fishing, back in her younger years.

     Janice is preceded in death by: her husband Denis; daughter Annette; son Lonnie; parents Ted and Bernadine Straight; brothers Jim and Jack; sister Jean.

     Survivors include: her sons: Tony and wife Kerry of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Brian of Modale, Iowa, sister: JoAnn Myers of Logan, Iowa; brothers: John and wife Debbie Straight of Logan, Iowa, Jerry and wife Sandra Straight of Logan, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; many great grandchildren which to all she was known as “granny”; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

     Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

     The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship to the Legion Hall in Modale following the committal service at the cemetery.
