Jeffrey L. Stirtz age 64, of Mondamin, Iowa passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 at his home. Jeff was born September 25, 1954 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Arlon and Frances (Hansen) Stirtz. Jeff graduated from West Harrison School in 1972. Jeff married Star Mefferd June 21, 1975 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Jeff farmed his whole life in the Mondamin area. He loved spending time with family and friends, watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, demolition derby, any kind of outdoor activity, working with his farm landlords, driving around and checking the crops. He would prepare for planting and harvest seasons, and the solitude and freedom of farming. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in law, Don and Darlene Mefferd.
Jeff is survived by his wife Star Stirtz of Mondamin, Iowa, children: Drew Stirtz and wife Halie of Mondamin, Iowa, Chad Stirtz of Mondamin, Iowa, grandchildren, McKenzie Stirtz, Tylar Stirtz, Charleigh Stirtz, Maasen Stirtz, sister: Suzanne Miller and husband Jeff of Bellevue, Nebraska, brother: Mark Stirtz and wife Denise of Lake Port, California.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa The family invites everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the church following the committal service at the cemetery.
