Jennie May Gallentine, age 85, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away February 11, 2025, at Azria Health Longview Home.
Celebration of Life Gathering will start at 2:00p.m Saturday, February 22, 2025, at United Methodist Church in Modale, Iowa.
Jennie was born on September 30, 1939, to Chancey and Evelyn (Chamberlain) Adams in Mondamin, Iowa. Jennie graduated from Modale High School. She ran Jennie’s Café for many years, worked at Super 8 in Missouri Valley, and babysat in her home. She was a member of the Modale Legion Auxiliary and also served on the Modale City Council. Jennie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, crossword puzzles and playing bingo.
Jennie is survived by her children, Clifford (Cathy) Gallentine of Onawa, Iowa, Nancy Cox of Logan, Iowa, Lynda (Mike) Johnston of Modale, Iowa, and Jeanette (Kent) Beebe of Missouri Valley, Iowa, 8 Grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Brothers Charley (Rachel) Adams of Gibbon, Iowa, Allen Adams of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Blair (Bonnie) Adams of Modale, Iowa. Sisters Louise Tietgen of Uehling, Nebraska, Rena (James) Ford of Modale, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Tim Cox, grandson Ryan Johnston, great grandson Oliver Neary, brother Frances Adams, sisters Blendina Cooper, Georgia Garnette, Edina Wede.
