Lane Kirlin

Lane Robert Kirlin age 23, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Lane was born November 30, 1994 in Blair, Nebraska to Bob and Angie (McIntosh) Kirlin. Lane attended Missouri Valley High School and graduated with the class of 2013. He then attended Clarkson College before transferring to Wayne State to pursue a teaching degree. He had a passion for helping children. While attending Wayne, Lane was active in International Club and served as President for the past year. Lane was a confirmed member of the First Lutheran Church. Lane loved to spend time with his family both at home and on many vacations and camping trips. He loved to boat and get pulled on the tube… the faster the better. Lane had no fear and loved the roller coasters and thrill rides. He loved to hang out at home swimming in the pool and watching movies. His favorite hobbies were going to movies, sketching amazing drawings and reading books. He loved to read and would read anything. He was so smart and loved history and learning new things. Lane loved spending his summers with the Rief family at Desoto Bend Mini Mart. Lane was the most honest and caring person and spent his life making those around him smile. We will forever miss his smile and warm hug. Lane absolutely lit up a room when he walked in. To know Lane was to love Lane. He definitely lived his life in the dash between the numbers chiseled in stone.

Lane is preceded in death by his Grandfather Dennis Kirlin. We all know that Lane and Grandpa Denny are watching movies together and catching up and Grandma Katie is fixing a meal.

Survivors include his Parents Bob and Angie Kirlin, Brothers Reid and Noah (Noah’s Significant Other, Natalie Monzu) all of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Grandparents Roger and Karen McIntosh and Barbara Kirlin all of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins: Jason and Gina McIntosh (Trey and Elyssa), Bill and Susan Kirlin (Jamie, Carly, and Trey) Lisa Kirlin (Zach and Dawson), Mike and Ann Kirlin (Eiron, William, AJ, Joe and Jake), Scott and Kirstin Kirlin (Alexandra and Gus). Life long best friend John Wohlers. Too many other cousins, great aunts and uncles and friends to name.

The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Houdek Center after the committal service at the cemetery.
