Larry H. Campbell

On May 12, 2021 Larry Howard Campbell died at the age of 63. Larry fought bravely and remained strong throughout his battle with cancer. He was born December 1, 1957 in Council Bluffs Iowa and later moved to Arizona permanently in 1998.

He is survived by his mother, Donnella Campbell, his sister, Sherrie Powley and brother-in-law Mike Powley; his wife, Kristy; his daughters, Courtney Fisher (Campbell) and Baylee Campbell; his son-in-law, John Fisher; and granddaughter Ophelia. Larry’s father, Sonny Campbell; grandparents Alva Davis, Maggie Davis, Eva Campbell and Howard Campbell; his father-in-law, Jericho Hangartner; and son, Zane Campbell preceded him in death and welcomed him on the other side.

In February of 1978, Larry joined the United States Air Force as air mechanic and crew chief. Following his time in the military he worked as aircraft mechanic for American Airlines for 22 years. In February of 1987, Larry married Kristy and together they went on to have three beautiful children and a loving life together. His many passions included working on his 2008 Mustang Bullitt, watching football, going fast and being crazy. He will be remembered for his ability to make children smile by making duck noises with his mouth. Larry will live on through the hearts of those left behind because of his time as a loving son, brother, cousin, husband, father and grandfather.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Williams officiating.

Larry touched the lives of many of us at American airlines and was a fine example of integrity for his work and strength with his battle with cancer. We all enjoyed watching Larry’s latest pick of movies after hours and talking about cars. He was a good friend and I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
