
LaVonne G. Stewart age 98 of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away August 14, 2023, at the Newport House in Omaha, Nebraska. LaVonne was born on March 2, 1925, in Little Sioux, Iowa, to Thomas and Pearl Bothwell. LaVonne married Maurice Stewart on September 11, 1941, in Pisgah, Iowa. Maurice and LaVonne farmed in the Magnolia and Pisgah areas for many years. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, and playing cards. She was always helping all her neighbors and friends, but most of all her family.
LaVonne is preceded in death by her husband Maurice, her parents, brothers Gene Bothwell, Joe Swanberg, sisters Phyllis Christianson, Wanda McColley, Anita Nuzum.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Iverson and Bonnie McDunn of Omaha, Nebraska. Sister Gardena Wallace; brother Jerry Swanberg of Ankeny, Iowa. Grandchildren; David (Jennifer) McDunn, Stewart (Traci) McDunn and Tim (Tammie) Iverson.
LaVonne had 9 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation with family will be held 5:00p.m.~7:00p.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church following the committal service.

What a sweet lady she was. She would always wash my glasses when I would stop. She was a wise woman. I miss her voice and always kind words.
LaVonne and Maurice were good neighbors and good friends to my mom and dad, Betty and George Barry. (Mom a Stewart cousin of Maurice). Nancy and Bonnie, many years ago, were on the bus as me (Tim) to our Pisgah school. Thoughts and prayers for LaVonne and her family.
