Leeta Marilee Grap, age 84, of Persia, Iowa was called to her heavenly home Monday, October 1, 2012 at Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa. Leeta was born October 21, 1927 in Persia, Iowa to W.E. and Helen M. (Koll) Becker. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Persia Iowa. Leeta graduated from Persia High School in 1944 and attended Mortuary School in St. Louis, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Lynn F. Grap on February 10, 1948. Leeta served as Harrison County Recorder from November 15, 1968 to November 30, 1994 and was active in the county Democratic Party. She taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and confirmation classes over many years at Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in many church organizations. Leeta was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Becker. Survivors include her husband: Lynn Grap of Persia, Iowa, daughter: Lyneta Piela and husband Ronald of Elgin, Illinois, son: Dalyn (Emily Herb) of Volcano, Hawaii; granddaughter: Leeta J. Grap of Volcano, Hawaii. Visitation with family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Hennessey Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.
