Linda Ray Winchester age 75, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Westmont Care Center in Logan Iowa. Linda was born June 29, 1943 to Alice Wede (Smith) and LaVerne Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Linda married Roy Winchester on April 23, 1960. Roy passed away June 12, 1993.
Linda worked for many years cleaning the dentist office in Omaha, overseeing staff at the Country Inn hotel, provided in home care and assistance through Crossroads in which she most enjoyed driving clients around the dips of Missouri Valley and taking them shopping. Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gathering as many family members together as possible to spend time with one another.
Linda is preceded in death by her; parents, husband, son; Doug Winchester, brother, Dan Smith, and granddaughter Emily Winchester.
Survivors include her children: Brian Winchester of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Lori McFerrin and husband Bill of Bennington Nebraska, Robbie Winchester and wife Tammi of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Brett Winchester and wife Danielle of Missouri Valley Iowa, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sisters: Karen Brockman and husband Kenny of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Julie Meade and husband Duane; Lisa Mickey and husband Kim both of Missouri Valley, Iowa; brothers: Mike Smith and wife Sandy of Missouri Valley, Iowa;
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Christian Church Center following the committal at the cemetery.
