Mason Faubel

Mason Gerald Faubel, age 6, passed away at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Mason was born on June 7, 2005 in Blair, Nebraska to Jeremy and Elizabeth (Thomas) Faubel. In addition to his family, Mason loved his dogs Max and Jordie, Western shirts, boots and belt buckles (just like Uncle Caleb and Jerome Kline), toy cars, music ,playing at the playground, staying with Aunt Cheryl and going anywhere Aunt Cheryl was going and spending time with the Amato family. He also loved Sports. Mason participated in Football and Soccer but Baseball was his favorite. Mason competed in his first track meet two weeks ago and was looking forward to playing Basketball this year. Mason loved watching his sister and brother play sports and loved playing ball for Dad this year. Mason was Dad’s little helper on the court or field whatever the sport. Mason also loved to cuddle up with Mom on the couch. PopPop Wayne’s shoulder was also a favorite place to be. He loved school and graduated from Kindergarten this year; Mason also received the Student of the Month twice and Golden Ticket Award. Mason had an electrifying smile that drew you in. Mason loved life, everyone he met, and all that life had to offer. Mason is survived by his parents; brother, Dillon; sister, Haylie; grandparents, Sharon & Todd Eckstrom, Gerald & Dianna Faubel, and Wayne & Diane Thomas, great-grandparents, Prudie Bernt and Dean & Shirley Eckstrom; and special aunt Cheryl Thomas. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents; Papa John Bernt, George & Irene Faubel, Glen & Donna Thomas, Sandy & Donna Eastwood and his aunt, Melanie Elaine Faubel. Open visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Missouri Valley with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Faubel family.
