Mildred Irene Scott

MILDRED IRENE SCOTT, age 90, of Bridgewater, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Manson, Iowa. Mildred was born December 30, 1924 in Dewey, Iowa to John N. and Gertrude J. (Eblen) Connor. She attended school in Massena, Iowa. She was married to Daryl M. Scott, June 8, 1943 in Corning, Iowa. They resided in the Bridgewater area where they farmed and raised their family. Daryl passed away June 27, 2011. Mildred enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables, cooking, and having her family home for visits and holidays. Survivors include her son: Danny Scott and wife Mary of Lincoln, Nebraska; Dallas Scott and wife Pam of Manson, Iowa; Randy Scott and wife Pat of Logan, Iowa; grandchildren: Lana Washburn; Danna Scott; Kyle Scott and wife Angie; Jill Bianchi and husband Brett, Jodi Lawman and husband George; Robyn Chmiel and husband Kevin; Aaron Kerkhoff; Nicole Scott; great-grandchildren: Devon Draeger and wife Jamie ; Brandon Draeger, Keagen, Tate and Cooper Bianchi; Tommy and Rilynn Lawman; Meridith, Christian and Max Chmiel; Brady, Mitchell and Breanna Kerkhoff; great-great grandchildren: Davon Draeger and Arielleigh Draeger; Dreyden Draeger; Dane Draeger; sister: Marjorie Hughes and husband Kenny of Des Moines, Iowa; brother-in-law: Lonnie Scott and wife Nancy of Springfield, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daryl, sisters, Ada, Agnes, Maxine; brothers, Virgil, Pat, Joseph and Russell. She is saying it’s time that the swinging were done with, time that the creaking and pinging and popping that sang through the ceiling were past, time now for the soft vibrations of moths, the wasp tapping each board for an entrance, the cool dewdrops to brush from her work every morning, one world at a time.
