Café! She Norma Jean was a Rock Star at Sunnyside! Norma was a night owl and loved the 11:00 -7:00 am shift, during volleyball season I sometimes had the honor of working with her. After the bar crowd cleared out I would put a quarter in the juke box and play Jerry Lee Lewis, Great Balls of Fire. I would sing as loud as I could and dance mopping the floor, Norma would smile and laugh at me and in return I would sing louder just to see her million dollar smile! She loved the Smith kids, JoAnn, Robert and of course myself, but we loved Norma just as much! To knock on Norma house door and be invited inside, meant she trusted you and liked you. It was like knocking on the Wizard of Oz’s door, no one gets to see the Wizard of Oz, it was a badge of honor when she invited you in. I loved this lady, she was instrumental in my up bringing and I thank her for that.
With great love, LuAnn
