Pauline A. (Allen) Griffith age 81, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Pauline was born June 29, 1941 in Logan, Iowa to Ira and Viola (Flaharty) Allen. At the age of 16 years old Pauline attended a local dance, in Honey Creek, Iowa where she was asked to dance by Lewis “Tuffy” Griffith, once the dance was over Tuffy returned to his friends and stated “I will marry that girl one day”. Tuffy and Pauline were united in marriage in 1989 after living together for many years. Their life together was blissful and fun-filled until Tuffy passed away in 1996. Pauline worked as a housekeeper for many hotels around Missouri Valley and Omaha.
As anyone who knew Pauline she had a love for music and dancing. There was not a day that went by that she didn’t have a skein of yarn and her crochet hooks with her. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, toilet tissue dolls, outfits for baby dolls, or some fun animal.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husband Lewis “Tuffy” Griffith, parents Ira and Viola Allen, stepfather Herb Swanger, brothers: William, Francis (Hank), Michael and Leroy Allen, sisters: Barbara, Jessie, Eleanor (Maggie), Marilyn, and Muriel, other nieces, nephews and special friends.
Remaining to cherish Pauline’s memory: her sister Karen Nuzum, nieces and nephews, Valerie Daly (Jim), Jeremy Nuzum, Chad Nuzum, Matthew Allen, Ryan Allen (Amy), Jason Allen, Melissa Allen (Bucky), Adam Allen, great niece and nephew, Kaitlyn Nuzum, Cole Hopkins, many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at The Eagles Club following the burial at the cemetery.
Memorial donations can be directed to her family for future designation.
