Dottie, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Although we didn’t know Pete all that well, we thought a lot of him. He gave a young sports writer his first job in Missouri Valley. He is going on his 25th year at the paper and loves his job. I am sure he was mentored by Pete and probably caused a few grey hairs. But he taught the right way to write and he has done very well. You know we are talking about our son Matt Gengler. We are eternally grateful to Pete for having the confidence in a young sports writer and gave him a chance to grow in the business. We will never forget Pete and what he did for Matt. May God bless you and yours.

Our thoughts and prayer go out to you Dottie and your family. We only met Pete a couple of times but we are so grateful to him for all he did for a certain sports writer with no experience at all and mentored him in his almost 25 years at the Missouri Valley Times News. He trained him well and we will never forget Pete for that. Our son Matt Gengler has achieved many goals and we are sure Pete taught him how. May God bless all of your family and continue to hold you in His arms.

I just found out about Pete’s passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of family.. Brent Parry and I went through High School with Pete. We were always together after school doing whatever. Pete was in my wedding party. If my wife Linda and I were not at home we were at the Graham’s house. We had some great times. There are many stories to tell. I will miss him. May God bless your family.
