Ricky Dean Kelly

    Ricky Dean Kelly age 71 of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, surrounded by his family.  Rick was born February 2, 1952, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Glenn and Betty (Walters) Kelly.  Rick married Peggy Boss, September 3, 1976, in Blair, Nebraska.

     Rick served in the US Marine Corp before going to work for John Musgrave moving houses.  Rick also worked for the Harrison County Extension Office as a surveyor and assisted in laying out terraces.  Rick moved to northeast Iowa where he went to work at Iowa Ham in Independence, Iowa.  After moving back to Missouri Valley Rick went to work for Wilkinson Manufacturing in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska as a forklift operator until he retired in 2016.  Rick was a member of the Logan Christian Church.  He enjoyed working on old cars, watching football, WWE wrestling, spending time with his family, and visiting with his coffee buddies.  Rick loved to make people laugh, pull pranks, full of jokes and laughter till the end.

    Surviving family members include: his wife Peggy of Missouri, Valley, Iowa, his children Christy (Jeff) Birk of Sioux City, Iowa, Shawn (Jenn) Kelly of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Laura (Rusty) Guritz of Logan, Iowa, and brother William (Bill) Kelly of Lacey, Washington.

    Grandkids: Bryan (Kylie) Lenz of Woodbine, Iowa, Haylee (Gabe Toki III) Cooper of Sioux City, Iowa, and Reese & Emma Christy of Sioux City, Iowa, Aidan Christy of Burlington, Iowa, Kathryn, Addalyn, and Allyanna Kelly of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Macanna, Jazmyn, Abyagail, & Tyler Guritz of Logan, Iowa.

Great Granddaughter Ember Lenz of Woodbine, Iowa, and his favorite dog, Maci Mae!

    Extended family members: Jackie Kelly of Leesburg, Florida, Ida Jean (Roger) Hilgerson of Elgin, Iowa, Ron (Bev) Boss of Branson, Missouri, Sheri Foster of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

    Rick was preceded in death by his two brothers: Tony & Rodney Kelly, his Parents and stepmother.

    Rick chose to be cremated and requested no services.  All condolences can be sent to the family at their personal home.
