Longtime resident of Carbondale, Colorado, Robert D. Beck (AKA Bad Bob) lost his battle with cancer in the early morning on August 9, 2016 with his family by his side in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Bob was born June 28, 1951 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up in Missouri Valley, Iowa where he remained until he graduated High School and married his sweetheart Diann on June 5, 1971 and moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado a few years later where their daughter Jolene was born May 15,1974.
After his divorce in 1978, Bob met and married his future wife Pam (Harrison) on April 26, 1980. Bob and Pam remained in Carbondale up until his death. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. His Passion was working on vehicles or anything with a motor. He loved getting his hands dirty. Bob was a “Jack of all trades” who liked tearing things apart and happy that he could put them back together and actually worked. He was a proud father and grandfather to his daughter Jolene and grandson Lorenzo.
Bob’s wish was to have some of his ashes spread at his favorite places, including Mexico where he loved deep sea fishing and caught his first Marlin. It was a happy day for him with a smile on his face as big as the sky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, (Charles and Millie), brothers Stanley and Dennis.
Bob is survived by his wife (Pam) daughter (Jolene), grandson (Lorenzo) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, brothers David (Ruth) of Mondamin, Larry of New Castle, Colorado, and his faithful four-legged companion, ZDog who stuck to him like glue.
Bob’s final resting place will be in Old Town Cemetery in his hometown of Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Grieve Not
Grieve not,
Nor speak of me with tears,
But laugh and talk of me
As if I were behind you.
I loved you so~
‘twas heaven here with you.
