Robert F. Colwell

ROBERT FENNELL COLWELL, age 58, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Rob was born November 26, 1951 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Robert D. and Marian F. (Fennell) Colwell. Rob graduated from the Monte Vista High School and then Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado graduating with his Bachelors Degree. Rob served his Country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was married to Nan Haight November 23, 1987 in Monte Vista, Colorado. Rob was a self-employed land Surveyor. He was a former long-time resident of Monte Vista, Colorado and Missouri Valley, Iowa. He was a member of the American Legion. Rob enjoyed studying astronomy, geology and physics; reading, college sports (especially the College World Series), golf and sketching. Survivors include his wife: Nan Colwell of Missouri Valley, Iowa; daughter: Shalissa Clary and husband Chris of Dallas, Texas; son: Dylan Mullenix and wife Erin of Ankeny, Iowa; daughter: Abby Herman and husband Brian of Monte Vista, Colorado; grandson: Jack Mullenix of Ankeny, Iowa. sisters: Jeanne Colwell of Round Rock, Texas; Kathy Rogers and husband Mike of Alamosa, Colorado; brothers: Rick Colwell of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Ken Colwell of Alamosa, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Military Honors will be conducted by the Julius F. Muller American Legion #337 of Missouri Valley, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to lunch and a time of fellowship at the Logan-Missouri Valley Country Club following the services.
