Robert J. Allmon Sr. age 79 of LaVista, Nebraska formerly of Missouri Valley passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Robert was born April 27, 1938 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Max D. and Dorothy (Deal) Allmon. Robert graduated from the Missouri Valley High School. He served his country in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and retired from the Marine’s after 20 years of service to his country. He was married to Margaret (Fisher) and she passed away in 1997. He later married Paula Behm, November 28, 1998.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Dennis(Pete), Michael, sister Patricia, first marriage Margaret J. (Fisher) Allmon.
Survivors include his wife Paula, Children: Debbie (Dave) Oden, Linda Hayes, Robert J. Allmon Jr., Rusty Allmon, Max (David) Allmon, Sue (Shawn) McKern, Stepchildren: Matt (Julie) Floerchinger, Mark (Gina) Floerchinger, Melissa (Rob) Jackson, Mimi (Tim) Dickey, Marty Floerchinger, Brothers: Richard (Maxine) Allmon, Clifford (Anita) Allmon, Chuck (Cindy) Allmon, Jerry Allmon, Dean (Judy) Allmon, Tom (Vicky) Allmon, Sisters: Elizabeth (Allen) Neese, Mary Arp, Judy (Donald) Fox, 20 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
A Wake will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Missouri Valley, immediately following the Mass.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Marine Corp Honor Guard and the Julius F. Muller American Legion Post #337 of Missouri Valley
