Ronald Edward Killpack, age 89 of Logan, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Ron was born June 7, 1934, in Logan, Iowa to Walter E. and Mary (Hansen) Killpack. Ron served a little over three years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He enjoyed working in the Emergency Room as a Physicians assistant. Ron was married to Alice Knowles (Young) Killpack on August 7, 1954, in Portsmouth, Virginia at the Naval Hospital. After his service, he went back home to help his father work on the farm. Ron also worked for the Railroad, a Security Guard for the Airport, and Bluffs Run where he worked as a Head Judge for the dog races as well as working Security. Ron enjoyed working outdoors especially when it was 80 degrees or hotter. He enjoyed spending time watching the birds and other wildlife that came into his yard. He also enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and puttering around the farm.
Ron is survived by his grandson Aaron Killpack of Denver, Colorado; granddaughter Melissa Killpack of Missouri Valley, Iowa; great-granddaughter Jordyn Killpack of Missouri Valley, Iowa; great-grandson Gage Killpack of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and daughter-in-law Mary Killpack of Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice, his son Bruce and his brother Paul.
Visitation with the family will be held 11:00a.m~1:00p.m Saturday, October 14, 2023, followed by a service at 1:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Generations Hospice Care in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Military Honors will be conducted by Julius F. Mulller American Legion Post #337 of Missouri Valley, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a lunch at the Eagle Club following the interment.
