Thomas Alan Kiminski, age 57, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, passed away on December 21, 2018 at his home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Thomas was born November 29, 1961 in Duluth, Minnesota to Raymond and Rose (Martichuski) Kiminski.
Husband, Father of two, Band Mate (Vocals, Drums, Guitar), and Handyman. The only way you didn’t meet Tom is that you didn’t get out and have fun, or need something fixed, because if you did, he was there.
He grew up in a working class family out on County C in Superior, WI. Learned the drums in school, worked on cars, then began tearing apart and assembling electronics. He joined the Air Force, met the love of his life, started a family, taught himself the guitar and has had a good time throughout.
Tom was anything but lazy. His work ethic could put others to shame. He practically built 2 homes solo, worked 100 hour weeks refueling trains, pushed himself through phlebotomy courses, ran his own refrigeration business, and he’d be there to help with your furnace, then play in the band on the weekend. He was also a smart man, reliably he could walk into any situation and fix whatever was broken… even if he’d never seen it before. If you ever made Tom mad, you knew that too. He wasn’t shy. He’d tell you how you’d been an idiot, or let you know you’d taken a shortcut, and he wouldn’t suffer someone who takes advantage of others. He demanded respect, not just for himself, but for others.
What people should remember Tom for is how he made you feel. He wanted you to laugh, smile and dance. It was like he knew life was too short, so if you weren’t having fun with it you weren’t really using this time that you have. It was a shame and he was going to correct it by playing his guitar, pulling a prank, and cracking you up with a crazy story. He was great storyteller. At some point he’d also challenge your thoughts and beliefs, wrapping your head around some argument or philosophy and he had knack for it. You could argue the big picture with Tom and know he’d still love you and buy you a drink after all the yelling.
Tom was a good man, and we’re all the better for having shared the world with him.
Tom is preceded in death by his Mother Rose Kiminski, and Father Raymond Kiminski.
Survivors include his wife Darla Kiminski of Missouri Valley, Iowa, daughter Tiffany Kiminski of Charleston, South Carolina, son Nicholas Kiminski and wife Danielle of Blaine, Minnesota, sisters: Monica Browen of Superior, Wisconsin, Linda Hunter and husband Burt of Wrenshell, Minnesota, brother John Kiminski and wife Jennifer of Superior Wisconsin, father in law Dean Anderson and wife Dorothy, brother in laws: Chuck Smallwood and wife Ravae, Monte Smallwood, sister in law Michelle Gibson, multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Hennessey Funeral Home.
Following the Committal Service, the family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at The Eagles Club in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

So sorry to learn of Tommy’s passing. I guess we all knew it was coming. He fought the good fight and set the bar high as an example for all of us. Rest in peace Tom. Sympathy and prayers for your family.
