Vivian Juanita Swain, age 101, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her home in Council Bluffs, Iowa Vivian was born December 15, 1912 in Magnolia, Iowa to Harley and Bessie (Miner) Haynie. She grew up in River Sioux and graduated from Little Sioux High school. After high school Vivian attended Morningside College and received her teaching degree. She taught county school then she married Paul June 17, 1935 in Pisgah, Iowa and substituted for a while after marriage before becoming a stay at home mother. Paul passed away August 1977. Vivian enjoyed art work and painting beautiful pictures. Vivian was very involved with the Onawa Methodist Church. Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter; Marilyn Kay Swain, son; Dennis Paul Swain, three sisters.
