Wesley S. Spencer

Wesley Sherman Spencer, age 93, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Wesley was born May 9, 1920 in Plankington, South Dakota to Wesley Lee and Carrie (Hornbeck) Spencer. He lived in the Missouri Valley area since 1935 and farmed in the area for many years until his retirement. Wesley enjoyed watching the markets, sports, politics, mushroom hunting, fishing, hunting and collecting toy cars (tin, die cast and decanter cars). Wesley was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his brother; Raymond of Council Bluffs, Iowa, nieces and nephews. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; bother George (infant), sisters; Elsie Kachulis, Ruth Copp. Visitation will be held Wednesday from Noon until time of service at Hennessey Funeral Home. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Methodist Church following the committal service.
