William Paul Hand, age 94, of Missouri Valley died on Friday, June 5 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. Paul was born on November 24, 1914 in Missouri Valley to John Franklin and Stella (Carlock) Hand. He was married to Virginia Fitch on Sept. 17, 1934 in an apple orchard in Washington state. They resided Missouri Valley. During the summer they spent four months at their lake home in Minnesota where they entertained family and friends. They spent four months of the year in the south. Paul loved dancing, teaching family members how to water ski, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and wa a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Missouri Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his daughter: Carol Stovall and husband Woody of Lincoln, Nebraska; sons: Richard Hand and wife Nadine of Omaha, Nebraska; Francis Lee Hand and wife Linda of Fulton, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; thirty three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Faye Jones of Sioux City, Iowa and Arlene Hand of Council Bluffs; and many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, one sister and four brothers. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri valley.
