Yvonne Maule age of Mondamin, Iowa passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Brookstone Meadows Care Center in Elkhorn, Nebraska. Yvonne was born on September 21, 1925 in Wisner, Nebraska to Dr. Peter J and Anna Cooper Blair. Yvonne graduated from Mondamin High School and the Omaha School of Business. Yvonne married Donald Maule on February 1, 1957.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Eastern Star and the Mondamin United Methodist Church. She was a founding board member of the Harrison County Historical Society and served on numerous other boards and committees.
Yvonne loved children and enjoyed many happy hours with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, needle work, bird watching and playing cards games, especially cribbage, bridge, pitch and canasta.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband Donald Maule, her parents Peter and Anna Blair, brothers William and Keith Blair, sisters-in-law Josephine and Georgia Blair, brother-in-law Bruce Norris, nephews Jay and Kevin Blair and niece Barbara Blair.
Survivors include her 4 children Melody and Gary Deitering, Barry and Diane Barrineau, Cindy and Vaughn Pittz and Jim and Susan Maule, 9 grandchildren, Jeff, Chelle and Tony Deitering, Jessica, Gary and Hannah Barrineau, Andy Pittz, and Stephanie and Jacob Maule. She is also survived by her 3 great grandchildren Ben, George and Marley Barrineau, her sister Dione Norris and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday with a prayer at 5:30p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship to the Mondamin Community Center following the committal service at the cemetery.
