Bill Herman

William Frederick Herman, age 56, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Bill was born on October 15, 1964 in Missouri Valley to Charles and Helen (Pauley) Herman. Bill graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1983 and went on to graduate from Northwest Missouri State University in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing. Upon graduation Bill lived next to Desoto Bend Wildlife Refuge for sixteen years. Bill enjoyed all the wildlife Desoto Bend had to offer and the solitude of living at the end of a dead-end road. He really enjoyed gardening and had quite the green thumb. Trying to grow the biggest pumpkin every year was a challenge he loved. He enjoyed family and friends, hunting and fishing, refereeing basketball/baseball/softball/football games, Iowa Hawkeye & Pittsburg Steelers Football (he was a Black & Gold Guy), attending sporting events for his siblings and nieces and nephews, and most of all his beloved dogs. Bill loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was kind of ornery as his family and friends knew, but never in a mean way. Bill always greeted people with a big smile or a couple of jokes and always had a way about him that was warm and gentle. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and ask for nothing in return. Bill was a loving and dear brother. Family was important to him. He was taken from us too soon and we are going to miss him deeply, but God has a plan. It is not always a plan that we quite understand, but God must have needed a greeter at the gates of heaven who had a big smile and a bigger heart. Rest in peace brother Bill you will be missed dearly.

Bill was preceded in death by his Father Charles, Brother Pat and Niece Amy Herman.

Survivors include his Mother Helen of Missouri Valley; Siblings: Brother Mike (Linda) Herman of Papillion, NE; Sister in Law Vicky Herman of Blair, NE; Tim (Cyndy) Herman of Missouri Valley; Kelly (Roy) Noren of Omaha, NE; Bob (Sandy) Herman of Missouri Valley; Kris (Russ) Richt of Omaha, NE; Mark Herman of Missouri Valley; Marty (Janelle) Herman of Kansas City, MO.
