Danny D. Scott

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dan Daryl Scott of Lincoln, NE on Sept. 5, 2020. He passed away on the golf course doing what he loved at the age of 76 years. Dan was born in 1944 to Daryl and Mildred of Bridgewater, IA in a Creston, IA hospital. He spent the early years of his life growing up and farming in Bridgewater. He retired as Lieutenant of the Nebraska State Patrol at the end of his distinguished career serving as a state trooper, investigator and also Sergeant. He continued on to serve after retirement as a deputy with Saunders County and was the Jail Administrator when the new jail was built. He also served as a guard for the U.S. Marshals Service. He was a master of the game of golf, as well as a recreational firearm enthusiast. Beyond these two passions, Dan adored his time with family and watching sports.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years: Mary Scott; children: Lana (friend Gary), Danna and Kyle (Angie); grandchildren: Devon (Jamie) and Brandon; great grandchildren: Davon, Dreyden, Dane, Jayla and Ariel; brothers: Dallas (Pam) and Randy (Pat); brothers-in-law: Al (Sheryl) and Bill (Gloria); sisters-in-law: Jan (Chuck) and Marcia (Ron); step-sister-in-law: Carolyn (Dave); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    My sincere condolence to your family. I worked with Dan at NSP and worked in the same building in Air Park. I will miss seeing Dan in the club house and on the golf course, but will remember him always as I play Crooked Creek.
