Philip K. Duvall

  Philip K. Duvall age 85, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Philip was born August 28, 1934 in Logan, Iowa to Philip Kirk Duvall Sr. and Letha Mae (Green) Duvall. Philip graduated from Logan High School, with many honors, in 1952. He attended Iowa State University where he was in the ROTC Naval Program and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He graduated in 1956 with a degree in Industrial Administration. He served in the United States Navy as an Officer. He was owner of Capital Construction in Logan, Iowa until he retired in 2000. He was an active member in the National Rifle Association, United States Shooting Team, National Sporting Clay Association, and First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed horses, shooting trap, shooting sporting clays, traveling, and spending time with family.

Philip is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sonja Jeane.

Philip is survived by his daughter; Julie M. Boggs (Dan), sons; Curtis Phillips (Lou Ann), Scott Phillips (Shelia), grandchildren; Shane, James, Alicia, Justin, Brianna, Kyler, Nathan, Zach, Caitlin and Melissa, great grandchildren; Kaden, Kinley, Mackenna, Lily, Emmitt, Ethan, Ramona, Emily, Whitney, Taylor, Lane, Ryker, and Ella.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the church following the service.

Military Honors will be conducted by Julius F. Muller American Legion Post #337 of Missouri Valley and VFW Post 6256 and O’Hara Seeley Post of Logan.

    Phil was a wonderful person and will be truly missed by all of us at the Presbyterian church. We all loved Phil. We could count on him to help wherever needed.

    Prayers for all the Duvall’s. I remember Phil so well as he graduated with my Brother Lowell. I was younger, but everyone in our small school really liked and looked up to him. He was a person that we all have good memories of. him. Rest in Peace my old friend.
